The Turlock Narcotics Enforcement Team engaged in a pursuit with a wanted man on a motorcycle, but had to cancel the pursuit last weekend.
According to Turlock Police Department spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a TNET officer saw a suspect with a warrant out in his name on a motorcycle near South Orange Street and Clark Street around 1 a.m. on March 9. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time.
The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect fled and the officer initiated a pursuit.
During the pursuit, the suspect discarded a bag of marijuana. The suspect’s warrant is related to narcotics sales.
The pursuit lead to Highway 99, where Turlock police are required to hand over pursuits to the California Highway Patrol. CHP was not in position and the pursuit was canceled.
