After jumping the fence and making his way inside the Turlock Public Safety Facility Monday evening, officers apprehended the male suspect on multiple charges.
A suspect, later identified as Xavier Muzquiz, 37, jumped the fence into the secured parking lot, at the Public Safety Facility, located at 244 N. Broadway Ave., shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.
The secured parking lot is located adjacent to the Public Safety Facility, on the side near the Carnegie Arts Center.
An off-duty officer, who was coming in to begin his shift, saw Muzquiz and identified himself as an officer and asked the suspect to leave, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
Muzquiz did not leave and the officer asked a janitor who was in the area to go into the building and get help. Muzquiz then ran and followed the janitor into the Public Safety Facility, said Lewis.
The suspected made it a short distance into the building before he was apprehended by the officer who originally the suspect, as well as other officers.
Muzquiz was arrested and booked for trespassing and resisting arrest.
