Emanuel Medical Center has appointed Susan Micheletti as the new Chief Executive officer following the completion of Tenet’s acquisition of EMC.
Micheletti comes to EMC from San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Tenet’s hospital in San Ramon, where she served as Chief Operating Officer in June 2000. Originally, Micheletti joined San Ramon as Controller when it opened in 1990 and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer five years later.
“Sue [Micheletti] is a great fit with EMC,” said Jeffrey Koury, CEO, Tenet’s Western Region. “She is a highly experienced hospital executive who is very well regarded by both the medical staff and the employees at San Ramon. She brings a wealth of talent, experience and energy to her new position at EMC and will be a very visible presence in the Turlock community.”
Micheletti, who said she has been with Tenet for more than 27 years, is excited to make the move to Turlock’s EMC.
“I look forward to meeting and getting to know the employees and physicians at EMC,” Micheletti said. “In the coming months, I will be working closely with the medical staff, governing board, employees and local leaders to explore additional opportunities to meet the healthcare needs of the Turlock community.”
But for now, Micheletti explained she has already started to settle in.
“I’ve only been here a few short hours this morning, meeting and greeting the staff, but I can already tell the culture here is very similar to where I came from,” added Micheletti. “I’m very pleased to see that. It’s important for me to connect with the staff and I’ve already started to do that.”
