The Turlock Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Turlock on Sunday evening. This checkpoint is paid for through a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety. This grant pays for additional DUI and traffic enforcement.
The Avoid the 12 DUI Task Force will also be deploying special roving DUI patrols on Sunday, February 5th in several communities throughout the area looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols are, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, all looking for the tale-tell signs of an intoxicated driver behind the wheel.
“We want everyone to enjoy themselves on Super Bowl Sunday. At the same time, we want them all to be safe,” said Sergeant Cervenka, Turlock Traffic Safety Unit Supervisor. “Please be a good party host and ensure your guests have a sober and licensed driver to get them home.”
