Turlock police arrested a suspect Monday night for making repeated calls to the 911 system from his cell phone.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb, a male subject, identified as Benedick Munoz, 35, made more than 20 911 calls.

Munoz made numerous phone 911 calls and allegedly harassed the 911 operator, said Webb, and the calls were determined to be “unreasonable under the circumstances.”

According to Webb, by making the repeated phone calls, Munoz was forcing the dispatcher to take care of him, rather than taking other emergency calls which causes delays to emergency services.

While the calls were deemed unreasonable, it is still unknown at this time why Munoz made the phone calls.

“Due to the nature of the investigation we will not release what the calls were about as it relates to another ongoing investigation,” Webb said.

Munoz was arrested for making numerous phone calls to 911, according to the Turlock Police Department.
