Speeding Lamborghini Driver Arrested With Gun and Money

At about 1:03am Wednesday, Turlock Police Officer Lupe made a traffic stop at W. Main Street and N. Clinton Road.

The vehicle Lupe had stopped was a 2020 Lamborghini Urus that was speeding.

Lupe made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver as Miguel Rodriguez, 31, of Turlock.

When Lupe had his dispatcher run Rodriguez, he discovered he had a $250 infraction bench warrant out of Stanislaus County for failing to observe a boating sign.

While speaking with Rodriguez, Lupe smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Lupe decided to check if Rodriguez was impaired and in doing so removed him from his vehicle.

As Rodriguez stepped out, Lupe noticed his hand was in his pocket. Lupe gave Rodriguez a lawful order to remove his hand from his pocket and then performed a pat-down search for officer safety. While doing so, Lupe located a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun in the hoodie pocket.

“The firearm was loaded and not registered to [Rodriguez],” said Sergeant Cervantez. “[Rodriguez] also had a large amount of cash in a backpack. The money was booked for safekeeping.”

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a loaded firearm and his warrant.

Additionally, Rodriguez’s vehicle was towed.
