The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of the man killed at a Turlock farm on May 6.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance in the investigation of the killing of Manuel DaSilva, 54, of Livingston, who was found dead by family members the night of May 6.
DaSilva had been working on a tractor plowing fields in the 2400 block of South Walnut Road, near Greenway Avenue in Turlock. His family became concerned when DaSilva had not returned home from work and went to check on him. Family members drove to the work site and found DaSilva deceased.
DaSilva’s death is being investigated as a homicide by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. No other information is being released at this time, including the cause of death.
Detectives are asking anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of South Walnut Road near West Greenway Ave between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. May 6 to contact Detective Greg Buck of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department at 209-525-7103.
