At about 4:06am Monday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the 1200 block of N. Tegner Road.

When units arrived on scene, they found that a single vehicle had left the roadway at a high rate of speed after crashing into the asphalt wall and ended up in a tree.

Six people were injured and a mass-casualty incident was declared, all of which were transported by American Medical Response to local hospitals.

The vehicle was a sedan with five seats, indicating not everyone was properly belted in.

Officers also recovered a SIG Sauer P226 9mm handgun from the vehicle, which came back clear but registered to two different people who weren’t in the vehicle.

The vehicle sustained major damage and was towed away from the scene.
