At about 1:00am Sunday morning, Turlock Police responded to several reports of shots fired at the apartment complex in the 1300 block of Lambert Way.
While officers were responding, they received information that a dark Ram pickup truck had been involved and was leaving the area.
Officers De La Cruz and Conrad quickly arrived in the area and located the vehicle as it was leaving, making a high-risk stop on it in the 800 block of N. Tully Road.
The vehicle’s two occupants were removed at gunpoint and detained in handcuffs so officers could further investigate.
Back at the scene, officers located numerous 9mm shell casings in the apartment complex’s middle alleyway.
The detainees were questioned about the shooting, however, denied involvement and no firearms were located.
One of the detainees, who was the driver of the vehicle, displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested after participating in standardized field sobriety tests.
The passenger was released and the vehicle was towed.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
