On Wednesday, August 4th, 2021, at 3:40 pm, the California Highway Patrol, Turlock Rural Fire Protection District, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with unknown injuries at the intersection of S Golden State Blvd and S Daubenberger Rd, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located two vehicles involved. One was a semi truck and the other was a train. No one suffered any injuries.
The California Highway Patrol began its investigation and determined that the semi truck, being driven by Jose Dominguez Jr., 36, of Los Angeles, was carrying organic milk and traveling westbound on S Daubenberger Rd crossing over the railroad tracks when its trailer became high-centered on the tracks. Dominguez exited his semi truck and his trailer was struck by a northbound Union Pacific freight train shortly later. The trailer was sheared in half.
