John O'Hurley of “Seinfeld” fame, Stephen Tobolowsky from “Groundhog Day,” and Susie Abromeit of “Battle Los Angeles” will all play supporting roles in the feature film currently being shot in Turlock.
The family-friendly romantic comedy film is being written and directed by Corbin Bernsen of “Psych” and “L.A. Law” fame, who will also play a role in the film.
The movie follows 20-something Gwen, who tires of dating jerks and turns to a Christian dating website to meet Mr. Right. But trouble ensues when the barely-Christian Gwen finds herself dating a true believer.
Lacey Chabert of “Mean Girls” fame is playing the female lead, and Jonathan Patrick Moore of “The L.A. Complex” is her love interest.
O'Hurley is perhaps best known for portraying J. Peterman, Elaine's boss, on the NBC sitcom “Seinfeld.” He also hosted the game show “Family Feud” from 2006 to 2010.
O'Hurley was a contestant in the inaugural season of “Dancing with the Stars,” played the lead role of King Arthur in the Monte Python musical “Spamalot,” and hosts the annual Purina National Dog Show. And O'Hurley has been a voice actor in countless animated shows, including “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
Tobolowsky, is a noted character actor perhaps most familiar for portraying Ned Ryerson in the film “Groundhog Day,” the annoying old school friend who tries to sell life insurance to Bill Murray's character. He also played Sammy Jankis in “Memento,” the husband with a memory condition who Leonard uses to explain his condition to strangers.
Tobolowsky has played roles in more than 200 films and TV shows, including Showtime drama “Californication,” Fox musical “Glee,” NBC superhero drama “Heroes,” HBO western “Deadwood,” and scores of other shows.
Abromeit played the female lead in the mixed martial arts film “Beatdown.” She also had roles in the summer blockbuster “Battle Los Angeles,” diamond heist flick “Setup” and teen tennis comedy “16-Love.” On TV, she played recurring roles in the soap opera “As the World Turns,” and the OWN drama “The Haves and the Have Nots.”
Filming in Turlock is set to wrap up on Dec. 16.
