At about 2:03am Saturday, Turlock Fire came upon a traffic collision at N. Berkeley Avenue and Dancer Way.
A white 2019 Dodge Challenger had crashed into the roundabout and broken its suspension. The driver, later identified as Jazmine Ramirez, 28, of Modesto, wasn’t injured.
Turlock Police arrived on scene and contacted Ramirez. Her license was suspended and she had a misdemeanor bench warrant out of Merced County for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater, driving without a valid license, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Ramirez admitted to drinking and Officer Rocha asked her if she’d be willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. She agreed and completed the tests, but performed very poorly and failed to properly comprehend the last test’s instructions, needing them to be repeated several times.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, Rocha determined Ramirez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her.
Ramirez was issued a driver’s license suspension order and then transported to Doctors Medical Center to provide a blood sample for her chemical test required by California’s implied consent law.
Afterward, Ramirez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.
Additionally, Ramirez’s vehicle was towed.
