At about 9:32pm Monday night, Turlock Police, University Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to an aggravated assault at a residence in the 1000 block of E. Springer Drive.

The caller was the victims’ daughter and stated that both her parents had just been shot. Simultaneously, several people reported hearing sounds of shots in the Crowell Road area – later to be found unrelated.

When officers arrived on scene, they found that the husband and wife, later identified as Troy Borges, 60, and Susanne Borges, 61, both of Turlock, had not been shot, but rather had laceration wounds to their neck and arms after being stabbed.

Officers cleared fire and medical personnel into the scene, who immediately declared both victims deceased at 9:49pm.

Officers set up a crime scene and called out detectives, along with command staff.

After an autopsy, the investigation revealed that Troy was responsible for the murder of his wife and subsequently took his own life thereafter.

The utility knife used was recovered at the scene.
