The Turlock Fire and Police Chiefs took the Ice Bucket Challenge on Friday, with funds going go two special causes.
Police Chief Rob Jackson and Fire Chief Tim Lohman wanted to not only give to the ALS Association, which received approximately $115 million in donations this summer, but also donate to a local cause.
The funds were divided between the ALS Association and a gift card donated to the Flores family, who lost three family members in a hit and run on Sept. 6.
According to Turlock police spokesperson Mayra Lewis, who challenged Jackson to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, “several hundred dollars” were donated.
Turlock Police Explorers got the chance to dump the ice water over the heads of Jackson and Lohman, as their group donated the most money
