Turlock police found a driver asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle Monday morning and arrested him after locating narcotics and a loaded gun in his vehicle.
At approximately 7:14 a.m. Monday, Raul Hernandez-Mendez, 48, was allegedly found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle while stopped at the intersection of Minaret Avenue and Alfreda Street.
Upon contacting Hernandez-Mendez, officers found that he was not under the influence of alcohol, but did have his driving privilege suspended, according to the Turlock Police Department.
Turlock police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly found a loaded revolver and a bag containing methamphetamine, said the Turlock Police Department.
Hernandez-Mendez was arrested and booked for possession of a loaded and concealed firearm and possession of methamphetamine.
