Turlock police arrested a 15-year-old boy after making phone calls threatening Pitman High School students and staff.

On Sept. 1, at approximately 12:20 p.m., an anonymous call was made to Pitman High School staff and the caller made threats to harm students, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Police report that within minutes, a second call, making threats against the school, was made to the Turlock Police Department.

Pitman High School staff, the on-site Turlock Police School Resource Officer and additional Turlock Police Officers immediately searched the school grounds and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of the students and staff.

No real threat was reported found.

The Turlock Police investigations unit immediately began working to trace the origin of the calls.

On Tuesday, investigators had obtained enough information to trace the origin of the call to a Turlock residence and subsequently arrested a 15-year-old boy.

The boy was booked into the Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on various charges related to the threats.

Turlock Police Sergeant Stephen Webb stated that investigators believe that the threats were meant to be a hoax, with the caller lacking the intent or resources to carry out an attack at the school.

The investigation will continue to determine if any other locations were threatened and if any other person(s) were involved, stated Sergeant Webb.
