The Pitman High School Pride (7-3) were eliminated from the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs last week, falling 39-14 to the Napa High School Indians (9-2).
After making the playoffs thanks to a very strong record, the Pride couldn’t do much against the Indians, who jumped out to an early lead on Friday night.
The Indians jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, dominating the Pride defense that had been stellar all year.
That 14-point lead turned into 24 quickly with the Pride looking at a 24-0 deficit going into the half.
Pitman was able to finally get on the board in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough with Napa piling on another 15 points in the quarter.
The young Pride team just couldn’t handle the strong Napa team and eventually fell 39-14.
While facing back-to-back disappointing losses in the Harvest Bowl and the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs, the Pride have a promising future with the majority of their starters from this year returning for their senior year.
