As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Pitman High School FFA and other student groups held a “Kiss the Pig” event on Oct. 23.
FFA student and Think Pink Chairperson, senior Mckenze Darche, says the Kiss the Pig drive was held to raise money for breast cancer research and students placed pink pig milk jugs in numerous classrooms throughout campus to collect coins.
While the money has yet to be completely counted, Darche says Kiss the Pig has so far raised $250 in coins.
The teacher with the most coinage donated would have to Kiss the Pig. This year music teacher Ruben Modesto won the honor, but coincidently enough Mr. Modesto was absent to kiss the pig — so the runner up, English teacher Joni Busby, earned the pleasure of planting a big fat wet kiss right on an FFA pig!
