Last week two Pitman High School graduates represented their colleges at the Mountain West Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held in San Antonio, Texas.
Stephanie Young, a 2010 graduate of PHS, swam for the University of Wyoming where she is a senior and a captain of the women’s swimming team. Young swam in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:08.16, the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing ninth with a time of 1:03.24, and the 200-yard breaststroke, completing with a time of 2:22.33. Young was also a member of the Wyoming 200-yard medley relay team, which placed sixth with a time of 1:40.07, and the 400-yard medley relay team, which placed third with a time of 3:38.97. Young previously swam with the Turlock Aquatic Club, in addition to her time at Pitman..
Hailee Baldwin, a 2013 graduate of PHS, swam for Fresno State where she is a freshman. Baldwin swam in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:09.49, the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing 16th with a time of 1:04.72, and the 200-yard breaststrok,e placing 19th with a time of 2:17.99. Baldwin was also a member of the Fresno State 200-yard medley relay team, which placed tenth with a time of 1:43.48, and the 400-yard medley relay team, which placed tenth with a time of 3:49.08. Baldwin also previously swam with the Turlock Aquatic Club and Pitman, in addition to time spent with the Ripon Aquatic Club.
The University of Wyoming finished in fourth place overall with a score of 455 points, and Fresno State finished in ninth place with a score of 177 points.
