At about 12:09am Wednesday morning, Officer Khounlivong observed a driver near Motel 6 in the 200 block of S. Walnut Road violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.
The driver pulled into the parking lot, parked, and immediately got out of his vehicle, refusing to comply with lawful orders. He began to walk away, however, was able to be quickly detained in handcuffs and identified as Diego Jimenez, 33, of Modesto.
When Khounlivong had his dispatcher run Jimenez, he discovered that he had a no-bail felony warrant for violation of parole, as well as a $25,000 local misdemeanor warrant for domestic violence inflicting corporal injury.
Jimenez was arrested and a search of his vehicle incident to arrest led to the discovery of a baton and drug paraphernalia.
Jimenez was transported to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center and while inside the facility, it was discovered that he had brought in narcotics that he hadn’t told officers about. Being that they were now inside the facility, Jimenez had committed a new felony.
Jimenez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a baton, bringing narcotics into a jail facility, resisting a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license, as well as his warrants.
