Turlock police arrested an Oregon parolee after he was found with stolen checks at a Turlock bus stop on Monday.
Turlock police responded to the 200 block of South Golden State Boulevard at 12:12 p.m. on the report of a suspicious person inside the Greyhound Bus Station, Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis said.
Police arrived, contacted the suspect, Cody Guthrie, 26, and conducted a parole search. During the search, police found that Guthrie had several checks written to him, said Lewis.
The checks were found to be from a Sunday night auto burglary that had not been reported to police, said Lewis.
It was also found that Guthrie, who was out on parole out of Oregon, had left the state without properly notifying parole officers.
Guthrie was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property, possession of forged checks, and violation of his parole.
