On Monday, August 29th, 2022, at 3:57 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of W Main St and N Kilroy Rd, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was a black Toyota sedan while the other was a white Nissan SUV. The black Toyota sedan was rolled over on its driver side.
The driver of the black Toyota sedan, who was its only occupant, did not suffer any injuries, however, had to be helped out of the vehicle by bystanders. The driver of the white Nissan SUV, who was also its only occupant, suffered minor injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
Officers began investigating and determined that the black Toyota sedan was traveling eastbound on W Main St in the left lane while the white Nissan SUV was traveling westbound on W Main St in the right lane. When the two vehicles approached the intersection, the black Toyota sedan entered the left turn pocket and began executing its left turn to go northbound on N Kilroy Rd. While the black Toyota sedan was executing its turn, the front of the white Nissan SUV collided with the passenger side of the black Toyota sedan and caused it to roll over. It’s currently unclear which vehicle had the right of way at the intersection at the time.
