An auto theft suspect was quickly arrested after an officer had just finished taking the report of the stolen vehicle late on Thursday.

The theft was reported at approximately 11:13 p.m. on Thursday on the 100 block of Starr Avenue.

Turlock police responded to the area and after taking the report, an officer looked around and quickly spotted the vehicle, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The officer was able to stop the vehicle and apprehend the suspect driving.

Joseph Tosta, 36, was arrested and booked for auto theft and an active fraud related warrant.
