The new air conditioner replacement program provides a $500 rebate for residential customers who replace their existing central air conditioning systems or heat pump systems with a high efficient unit that meets the program requirements. In addition to the rebate from TID, customers may also be eligible for up to a $1500 federal tax credit.
While replacing an older unit with a newer, energy efficient model may involve some significant up-front, customers can enjoy a sizeable return on investment over time with lower energy bills, while also doing their part to help reduce energy usage and improve the environment.
