Take comfort in your canine companion for today is National Dog Day, which serves to help awareness about the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.
Founded by Celebrity Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert, Animal Behaviorist and Author Colleen Paige, National Dog Day also honors the deep appreciation for the historical connection of companionship between Human’s best friend and their four-legged counterparts.
Dogs serve many roles in our society, besides just being cute and cuddly, including police K-9s, military working dogs, guide dogs for the blind and disabled, and therapy dogs.
Turlock resident Angelina Padilla rescued one lucky puppy Chihuahua, named ChaCha from a flea market today.
She said it was a coincidence she got the puppy on National Dog Day but as soon as she saw ChaCha she fell in love with her.
At Monte Vista Small Animal Pet Hospital, staff showed extra love to their dogs today. Dog lovers are welcome to email them pics of them with their companions at staff@montevistavet.com or post to the Monte Vista Small Animal Pet Hospital on Facebook.
