On Sunday, August 1st, 2021, at 6:38 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Lander Ave and Rosewood Dr, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located two vehicles involved. One was a motorcycle and the other was an SUV. The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was ground transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response. The driver and passengers of the SUV were either uninjured or had minor injuries and refused to be transported.
The Turlock Police Department began its investigation and determined that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Lander Ave approaching Rosewood Dr while the SUV was traveling westbound on Rosewood Dr approaching Lander Ave. For an unknown reason, the SUV either failed to stop at the stop sign or pulled out in front of the motorcyclist, causing him to collide with its rear passenger-side door. The motorcyclist was then thrown over his handlebars and fell on his back in the road.
