It’s going to get funky in Turlock.
Morris Day and The Time, an American funk and dance-pop band, will bring their fun and exciting show to the 2013 Stanislaus County Fair.
Morris Day and The Time will play the Stanislaus County Fair at 8:30 p.m. on July 19 on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage. The concert, hosted by KWIN 97.7/98.3, is free with the price of fair admission.
“Morris Day & the Time will be a fun addition to the Fair this year,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Their performance will offer a variety to our entertainment lineup.”
Formed in Minneapolis in 1981, Morris Day and the Time were associates of legendary pop icon Prince, who assembled the band with Warner Bros. as a way to continue his style of funk while he explored other genres for his own career.
Performing hits like “Get It Up,” “Cool” and “Girl”, Morris Day and the Time are sure to bring funk to life at the Stanislaus County Fair.
Day also contributed a cover of “Somebody’s Watching Me” for the hit movie Haunted Mansion, and performed his hit song “Jungle Love” in the 2001 film, “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.”
Members of the band include Morris Day, Jerome Benton, Jellybean Johnson, Monte Moir, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Ricky “Freeze” Smith, and Torrell “Tori” Ruffin.
With five studio albums, and twelve singles, Morris Day and the Time continue to be funk and pop fan favorites.
The 2013 Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 12 for a 10-day run. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the fair season pass will go on sale beginning May 4.
