More than 500 cyclists will converge onto Turlock Lake for the fifth annual Turlock Lake Road Race (TLRR) on Saturday, March 28.
In its fifth year, the race is the biggest yet, as the TLRR was named as the 2015 Northern California Nevada Cycling Association (NCNCA) Masters Road Race Championship.
This year’s TLRR promises to be one most competitive races of the year with nearly 550 pre-registered racers and another 100 or more expected to register the day of the event.
The 22.8 mile loop of Turlock Lake features many small to rolling hills, the challenging Hawkins Rd., and picturesque views. Racers will complete two to four laps around the lake, depending on their category.
This is a spectator and family friendly race with plenty of parking, a Pavilion Area, and even a food vendor selling wood-fired pizzas to racers and spectators.
Pre-registration has closed, but racers can register at 7 a.m. the morning of the race at the Turlock Lake Recreation Area, 22600 Lake Rd, La Grange. Registration will close 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start times.
