Man with several warrants trespassing in abandoned house arrested after pretending to be someone else Tuesday afternoon

On Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, at 3:48 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported trespass in progress at an abandoned residence in the 1500 block of Lander Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found and made contact with two subjects, later identified as Joshua Morris, 33, of Aptos, and Cecil McMillan, 31, of Winton.

When officers asked the two to identify themselves, Morris originally gave someone else’s name, however, his true identity was eventually discovered.

When officers had their dispatcher run Morris, they discovered that he had five bench warrants. The first one was a $50,550 local misdemeanor one for failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia, the second one was a $50,550 misdemeanor one out of Stanislaus County for failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia, the third one was a $1,000 misdemeanor one out of Stanislaus County for trespassing, the fourth one was a $20,500 misdemeanor one out of Stanislaus County for possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia, and the fifth one was a $15,000 felony one out of Santa Cruz County for grand theft.

Morris and McMillan were both arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Morris on charges of false personation, trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as his warrants, and McMillan on the charge of trespassing.
