On Sunday, February 26th, 2023, at 10:40 pm, Turlock Police officers arrived at a residence in the 2600 block of Porsche Strasse, Turlock, to arrest a wanted person.
Officers were looking for Henry Alfonso, 44, of Turlock, who lived at the residence. Alfonso was wanted for a shoplifting incident that had occurred at Dick’s Sporting Goods a few days prior as well as a no-bail misdemeanor bench warrant out of Manteca for theft and a $50,500 local felony bench warrant for identity theft.
When officers knocked on Alfonso’s front door, he immediately ran into his backyard and jumped his fence in an attempt to flee, however, was met by an officer who was waiting on the other side of the fence in case he did exactly that.
When Alfonso noticed the officer, he immediately retreated back into his backyard where he was confronted by the two officers who were originally knocking on his front door. Alfonso was arrested at gunpoint.
A search of Alfonso incident to arrest was conducted which led to the discovery of narcotics.
Officers then came across Billy Nix, 38, of Turlock, who they knew and recognized. When they had their dispatcher run him, they discovered that he had a misdemeanor bench warrant out of Tuolumne County for a traffic offense. He was arrested.
Alfonso was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamines, as well as his warrants, while Nix was released on a citation on his warrant.
