On Friday, December 2nd, 2022, at 7:41 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense that had just occurred at the intersection of Lander Ave and A St, Turlock, where a man had reportedly brandished a handgun at another man.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the victim who told them that a man later identified as Victor Rodriguez, 23, of Florida, had threatened to shoot his son as they were walking and then pulled out a silver revolver after making that threat. The victim requested Rodriguez be prosecuted for making the threat.
Rodriguez was eventually located inside Smoke Depot, 500 Lander Ave. He was given lawful orders to exit the business and refused. Officers eventually went hands-on with him and attempted to place him in handcuffs, when he began threatening and assaulting them. Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of battery, obstructing or resisting an executive officer in the performance of their duty by means of threat or violence, threatening to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person, and obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer in the discharge of their duty.
