A Turlock man trying to remove a piece of stuck farm equipment was killed on Monday afternoon on the 10000 block of August Avenue. On Tuesday, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office released the man’s identity as 44 year old Juan Pineda.
According to Stanislaus County Sheriff spokesperson Sgt. Anthony Bejeran, it appears that Pineda was trying to remove some farm equipment that had become stuck in some soft dirt. He was towing it out with another piece of farm equipment.
“It’s looking like he was trying to make an adjustment to his tow line and he got pinned in between both pieces of farm equipment, one of them slipped into the soft dirt,” stated Bejeran. “He died as a result of his injuries.”
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office said that Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene.
