On Thursday, July 29th, 2021, at 10:37 am, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries behind Ace Hardware, 3051 Geer Rd, Turlock.
When firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene, they located a man, later identified as Alan Cole, 44, of Turlock, on the ground unconscious at the loading dock behind the business. He had been run over by a delivery van backing into the loading dock. Police say that Cole was believed to be sleeping when the collision occurred.
Firefighters and paramedics provided medical aid to Cole before he was ground transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response. Later at the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the delivery van remained on scene and was cooperative with police. Alcohol, drugs, or speed do not appear to be a factor in the collision. The investigation remains on-going.
