At about 4:05pm Tuesday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to an overdose at W. Main Street and S. First Street.
The caller reported there was a man possibly overdosing on fentanyl near the intersection.
Officer Conrad arrived on scene within two minutes to find Charlie Odell, 45, of Turlock, down in the bushes of a landscape area near the railroad tracks.
Conrad immediately began CPR on Odell until being relieved by firefighters and paramedics.
Odell was transported to a local hospital, still unresponsive with CPR in progress. He was declared deceased a short time later.
