Man Booked on Misdemeanor Warrants After Becoming Hostile

IMG_1920-1

At about 7:51pm Thursday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a security check in the 1600 block of Valparaiso Drive.

The caller reported a man was lying on the ground in the alley behind their residence.

Officers were the first to arrive on scene and contacted the man. He stated he was medically fine and didn’t want an ambulance.

Officer Kauffman offered the man a bottle of water, which he accepted, and he identified himself as David Branch, 62, of Modesto.

When officers had their dispatcher run Branch, they discovered he had two $1,000 misdemeanor bench warrants out of Modesto. One was for trespassing, while the other was for vandalism.

As Kauffman was working on Branch’s citation, Branch decided to become hostile, stand up, and refuse to obey lawful orders to sit down. It was then decided that Branch would be booked instead of cited.

Branch was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.
