IMG_2791 (1)

At about 7:27pm Sunday, Turlock Police Officer Lupe made a traffic stop at W. Linwood Avenue and Venture Lane.

Lupe made contact with and identified the vehicle’s two occupants, including Juan Gonzalez, 32, of Atwater.

When Lupe had his dispatcher run the two, he discovered Gonzalez had two misdemeanor bench warrants. The first was $10,550 local for driving with a suspended license, while the second was $25,000 out of Madera for traffic-related violations.

Gonzalez then told Lupe he had a firearm in the center console.

The Glock 17 9mm handgun was recovered and determined to be unloaded. It was registered to Gonzalez, but he wasn’t a CCW license holder.

Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and his warrants.
