At about 9:47pm Friday, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in progress at Denny’s in the 1900 block of Lander Avenue.

The caller reported that Jorge Perez, 58, of Turlock, had come into the business, urinated on the floor, and tried to hit the manager before fleeing southbound Lander Avenue on foot.

Perez had previously been trespass admonished from the business several times and had a $10,500 local felony bench warrant for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger.

Officers Schell and Ottis arrived in the area and began checking, locating Perez on the freeway on-ramp behind the business.

Having knowledge of his warrant, the officers immediately arrested Perez.

Meanwhile, officers Arroyo and Macias had contacted the caller at the business. They didn’t want anything done about what had happened.

While searching Perez, he began to passively resist, requiring Schell to raise his voice and sternly tell him to stop.

Perez is known for regularly causing issues around town and harassing people, but appearing friendly when contacted by police, until the handcuffs come on and he realizes he’s going to jail. That’s when he starts acting like he normally does toward other people.

Perez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.
