On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, at 12:46 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Lander Ave and Bernell Ave, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle with expired registration, so he made a traffic stop on him.

The officer made contact with the man and was given a name and date of birth, however, the officer became suspicious and believed that he had been lied to. When the officer gave his dispatcher the name and date of birth, there was no record on file for it, however, a similar record returned with a slightly different date of birth.

A second officer then arrived on scene and was able to identify the man as Keith Hobbs, 47, of Turlock, who he had previously dealt with.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Hobbs, he discovered that he had a suspended driver’s license due to DUI drugs.

Hobbs was arrested and a search of his vehicle was conducted incident to arrest. During the search, large amounts of narcotics and marijuana were located, all individually packaged appearing to be for sale.

Hobbs was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, false personation, selling or transporting cannabis, and driving with a suspended driver’s license due to DUI.
