On Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, at 9:57 pm, a Turlock Police sergeant near Commonwealth, 200 W Main St, Turlock, recognized and got out with a man who he knew one of his officers had been looking for.

The sergeant called the officer who had been looking for the man, Mario Williams, 40, of Turlock, and he responded.

A few days prior, the officer had stopped Williams on an unreported stolen bicycle after he had caused a disturbance at the CVS store on Geer Rd. During the stop, the officer noticed a distinctive feature of the bicycle.

When the bicycle was reported stolen to a different officer and put on the be on the lookout bulletin, the officer who had stopped Williams on it immediately recognized it and called the victim. The victim described the exact distinctive feature that the officer had noticed during the stop.

Due to the value of the stolen bicycle being a felony amount in excess of $950, Williams was arrested.

During a search incident to arrest, the officer located methamphetamines on Williams.

Williams was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of buying or receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

It should be noted that Williams is always on different bicycles when contacted and was arrested on Friday, February 10th, after a burglary where he had been seen on surveillance camera video stealing a bicycle out of a garage.
