At about 4:54pm Wednesday, Turlock Police and the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit arrived at a residence in the 3600 block of Jefferson Street to conduct follow-up in a firework violation case.

Detectives, investigators, and officers converged on the residence all at once to serve a search warrant. Outside, two men were detained, including Jordan Vasquez, 25, of Turlock.

During the subsequent service of the warrant, over 1,200lbs of dangerous fireworks were located in the home, as well as drug paraphernalia and evidence of cannabis sales.

Vasquez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possessing dangerous fireworks, selling or conveying dangerous fireworks, and possession of cannabis for sale.

The second detainee hadn’t committed any crimes and was released from detention.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist is encouraged to call Officer Marquez at 209-668-1200.
