A male subject was arrested the morning of July 17 after he was reportedly harassing customers outside of a Turlock business.

Turlock police responded to the 800 block of W. Hawkeye Avenue at approximately 9:50 a.m. on the report of a male subject harassing customers. Officers arrived on scene and contacted Richard Moutinho, 61.

It is unknown what Moutinho was doing to harass customers, but Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen said he was intoxicated and that may have been the issue.

When officers contacted the suspect, Moutinho resisted and the officer took him to the ground with minimal force to gain custody, said Webb.

Moutinho was arrested and booked for battery of a police officer and resisting arrest.
