At about 6:49am Friday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a weapon offense in progress at a residence in the 1000 block of E. Main Street.
The caller reported that her husband, Eduardo Camarillo, 42, of Turlock, was under the influence of narcotics and had shot a firearm inside the residence. He had then gone outside in his underwear, believing he was being attacked by someone.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Camarillo outside with a black handgun. Upon seeing the officers, Camarillo placed the handgun in the bed of a truck.
Camarillo was detained without incident and the gun was recovered.
Officers began investigating and revealed that Camarillo had fired off four rounds inside the residence while it was inhabited by others. Additionally, narcotics were located near a box of ammunition in his room.
Camarillo was also discovered to have a $10,000 warrant of attachment out of Stanislaus County.
During the incident, Camarillo suffered an unknown injury, not a gunshot wound. No one else was injured.
Camarillo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, child abuse or endangerment under circumstances likely to produce great bodily harm or death, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded and operable firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, as well as his warrant.
