At about 3:09am Friday, Turlock Police responded to a battery in progress at Walmart in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road.

The caller stated a man was slapping a woman and throwing her items into the roadway by the electric vehicle chargers near the garden section.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted the couple, including David Cadwalader, 45, of Turlock.

There was a bunch of miscellaneous items scattered all over N. Tully Road.

Cadwalader was uncompliant with officers and reaching into his waistband, so he was detained at gunpoint.

When officers had their dispatcher run Cadwalader, they discovered he was restrained from the woman. He was also on searchable probation for possession of methamphetamines and driving with a suspended license.

Through the investigation, it was determined Cadwalader had injured the woman during the incident.

The woman refused treatment or transport to the hospital.

Cadwalader was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of domestic violence inflicting corporal injury and violating a domestic violence order resulting in physical injury.
