On Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, at 12:47 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported residential burglary in progress at a residence in the 400 block of Monroe Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the suspect, David Fannon, 27, of Turlock, standing in the driveway of the residence next to his vehicle. Fannon was contacted and denied breaking into the home.

Other officers made contact with the victim and he told them that Fannon and his son had previously visited him at his home. During the visit, Fannon’s son had a dog jump on him, causing an injury. Fannon then reportedly told the victim that he was going to kill the dog for causing the injury to his son. The victim then told officers that today, while he was at his home, Fannon broke in using a crowbar and attempted to attack the dog that had injured his son.

A crowbar was found in Fannon’s vehicle.

When officers attempted to put Fannon in handcuffs, he pulled away from them and threatened to fight them. Fannon then began running and a foot pursuit ensued. Fannon ran for a few minutes and jumped several random backyard fences, however, was eventually caught in the 300 block of E Olive Ave.

Fannon was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary, obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer, obstructing or resisting an executive officer by means of threats or violence, and violation of post release community supervision.
