Last-Minute Fourth of July Event Info for Turlock and Surrounding Area

With just one day remaining before the Fouth of July, scores of local residents are still making plans to celebrate the nation's birthday.

Fortunately for last-minute planners, many nearby cities will be holding Independence Day celebrations, replete with parades, fireworks, and fun for all attendees.

Turlock – 4th of July Parade, Street Festival, and Fireworks Show
The "Our American Heritage" parade will begin at 10 a.m. and travel down Main Street in Downtown Turlock. The street festival will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A firework show will begin at 9:30 p.m. at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, food, soft drinks, and water, but no alcohol, fireworks, or glass bottles are permitted.

Don Pedro Reservoir – Fireworks on the Water
A half-hour firework show begins at 9:30 p.m. on the water by Don Pedro Dam. The show can be viewed from the Blue Oaks Group Area, the Visitor Center/Helipad area, or from the water. Admission is $15 per vehicle, and it is strongly recommended visitors arrive by 8:00 p.m.

Modesto – 139th Annual Fourth of July Parade
Beginning at 9:30 a.m., the parade will travel throughout Downtown Modesto, centered on the loop of 10th, F, 11th, and J streets.

Oakdale – 18th Annual Fireworks Celebration
To be held on July 6 at Woodward Reservoir, 14528 26 Mile Rd., Oakdale. The fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m. Guests advised to arrive early; entrance will be disallowed once the reservoir reaches capacity. Admission is $20 per carload.

Ripon – Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Show.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Historic Ripon Arch on West Main Street. At 5:30 p.m. activities commence at the Ripon Elementary School, 509 W. Main St., followed by a 7 p.m. concert. The firework show starts at 9:15 p.m., synchronized to music on 105.5 FM, The River.

Manteca – 4th of July Celebration
Begins at Big League Dreams Park, 1077 Milo Candini Dr. Games, food, and activities followed by a fireworks show. From 6 to 10:30 p.m. Admission for children is free, adults are $2.
