Turlockers will be celebrating good times at this summer’s Stanislaus County Fair, with a little help from R&B legends Kool & the Gang.
“Kool & the Gang brings back many nostalgic memories,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “They have provided their fans with a variety of great hits and we can’t wait to ‘celebrate’ with them.”
Kool & the Gang have sold more than 70 million records worldwide during their 43 years of performing, more than any other R&B group. With famous anthems such as “Celebration,” “Cherish,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Summer Madness,” and “Open Sesame,” the group has won two Grammys and seven American Music Awards. Kool & the Gang has charted 25 Top 10 R&B hits, nine Top 10 Pop hits, and 31 gold and platinum albums.
Kool & the Gang will perform at 8:30 p.m. July 15 on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The concert is free with the price of admission.
The 2014 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 11 for a 10-day run. Discounted fair admission tickets went on sale May 3.
