The owners of Turlock’s Las Casuelas, Karina and Guillermo Ramirez, are gearing up to open Memo’s Cocina, an upscale Mexican restaurant in Downtown Turlock.
“Memo’s wants to bring more of an upscale city feel to the valley and incorporate locally-grown produce from the Turlock Farmers Market in our hand-crafted cocktails and entrees,” said Ramirez.
Memo’s Cocina will play host to a new variety of Mexican dishes on the lighter side, and nearly a whole new staff according to Cesar Rodriguez, a manager at Las Casuelas.
Rodriguez explained that positions are open for the whole spectrum of food service, from bussers to servers to bartenders. Applications are being taken at Las Casuelas, located at 3203 Entertainment Way.
The new restaurant, which will include a lounge and restaurant with seating for approximately 100 guests will serve 70 different varieties of “high-end artisan tequilas.” It will also serve wine on tap to provide more consistency in freshness and temperature.
Also Memo’s Cocina will join the host of restaurants which offer a Warrior Discount to California State University, Stanislaus students. A 10 percent discount will be offered to CSU Stanislaus students who present their student ID.
Memo’s Cocina was originally expected to open this month, but the grand opening has been moved to some time in June.
The new restaurant is located at 139 W. Main St. in Downtown Turlock.
