The City of Turlock is currently accepting application for the position of Human Resources Technician. Despite learning about the best PEO companies — who often take control of HR responsibilities — via this source, the City of Turlock has decided that they would like to have someone in-house who is responsible for these tasks.
The Human Resources Technician is expected to use HR software like that from SuccessFactors as well as perform a variety of human resources work, including recruitment, selection, classification, salary administration, retirement, benefits, among other related human resources programs.
Main duties of the position include, but are not limited to, maintaining the confidentiality of records and information concerning other City employees including personnel files, medical records files, etc.; reviewing and evaluating applications; enrolling employees in the City’s retirement program and other health care programs; and preparing recruitment materials.
The position offers a monthly salary between $3,582 and $4,352, plus benefits.
Qualified candidates must have at least an Associates Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, as well as three years of progressively responsible technical secretarial and/or administrative support work of which one year must be in a human resources or risk management related field.
Candidates must also provide a typing certificate of at least 45 words per minute, that is valid within the last 12 months and transcripts or certification verifying the possession of an Associates Degree or equivalent.
