An intoxicated driver was arrested and cited after hitting a stop sign at the intersection of Marshall and Rose streets and fleeing on Tuesday afternoon.
Turlock police responded to the scene of the alleged hit and run at approximately 4:10 p.m.
The suspect, later identified as Eric Munoz, 40, allegedly hit a stop sign at the intersection and fled on foot, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
Officers located Munoz a short distance from the scene of the collision. Munoz was identified based on the statements of witnesses, said Lewis.
Upon contacting Munoz, officers conducted a standard field sobriety test and allegedly determined that he had been driving under the influence.
Munoz was arrested and cited for DUI and hit and run.
