Huntington Learning Center has been serving the Turlock community since 2004 with tutoring services for students in preschool through junior college.
As a tutoring center, most would expect Huntington to offer such services as supplemental instruction in reading, study skills, writing and math or tutoring in such subjects as geometry, algebra, pre-calculus, chemistry, biology and history. And though all of those services are offered at Huntington, there is one service unknown by most.
In addition to tutoring services, Huntington also offers SAT and ACT exam preparation. In fact, it is one of the most popular services at Huntington.
“Any student who desires to improve skills in reading, writing, math, study skills and exam prep” is the ideal candidate to begin a program with Huntington, said Director Aleta Pallios.
It is important for parents to look for specific signs in their student when trying to determine if they are right for a program with Huntington.
“Red flags for students include avoiding homework, not turning work in, struggling to do homework, poor report cards, struggling in reading out loud, having trouble discussing and understanding what they have read,” Pallios said.
If you notice any of these signs in your student, call Huntington at 209-632-8829 and set up a diagnostic assessment to address the areas of need of your student.
Huntington Learning Center was started in 1977 in New Jersey by Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington, with the Turlock locations’ doors opening in 2004. Huntington typically has between 70 to 90 students enrolled.
The Turlock Huntington Learning Center is located at 2050 Canal Dr., between Johnson Road and Old Vineyard Road.
